Hate to endorse Harbor Freight, but their earthquake impact 1/2" gun is a GREAT piece of equipment, :good: & often on sale for $70-$80. Have had mine since 04, & used it on bikes & cars for disassembly 90% of the time. 2'nd click is good for car lug nuts to tighten, & feels good when checked with 4 way. New ones now have 700lbs of torque, mines about 640 if memory serves. Good Luck

I GOT IT I GOT IT I GOT IT! Ordered the DeWalt 20vMax impact wrench - found one on Amazon for $125.00 - I already have the XR batteries for my drill - popped that bolt out in two shakes! I just finished cleaning and oiling all of the internals and I'm going to reassemble tonight! WOOHOOO! Thanks guys! How much fork oil (I'm going to use ATF) should I put in there with a set of progressive springs? I know it's supposed to be less than the stock springs because they displace more oil - anyone got the magic number on that?

15 weight is a real plus if you like a taught type of ride, air pressure can sometimes be reduced to 0 if you want a little cush instead.

Progressive said 15wt for 1200 & 1500's if memory serves, :headscratch: that's what I have & liked upgrade, still use a little air in mine. :good: A T F works fine but a little soft to suit me.

That bottom allan that holds everything can be an issue if it's been buggered up by someone else. E Z out works when allans fail, but NEVER had ANY PROBLEMS taking apart again. Always use a thread sealer, locktite, or the like to make sure they do not back out & leak on axil & maybe the tire, & brakes!!! :headscratch:

That was the one... 3 sizes of easy outs and one hour of banging, drilling and cranking. The other one came out on the first try ironically.

I have to re-replace the right seal, I must have not had it set quite properly after re-assembly. the left tube has no issues but the right is definetly leaking. I replaced the bushings, etc. as well as the springs - so I'm not bottoming out anymore thanks to Progressive, but I still have to tear it back down to replace the right seal again. Live and learn!

At least that bottom bolt will be clean and easy to remove!
