Good day everyone,
I currently only have small motorcycles, and a couple that need to be restored.
But I don't have anything that's good for long distance riding.
I thought an older naked wing would be a nice addition.
Can someone tell me what year Honda went to tubeless tires?
I do know that some of the late 70's models had comstar wheels, but I don't know if they were tubeless.

Welcome. Comstars on the GL1000s ('78 and 79) were not tubeless., although tubeless tires could be run on them (with tubes, of course). I would guess that the earliest would be '83 which I think had cast wheels. BTW, all of the GoldWings were great for long distance riding.

I had a CB750F with Comstars, tubeless.

Far as long distance traveling on a GL1000 I wouldn't trust it unless everything electrical was new or verified as in pristine condition, especially the stator and pulse coils.

In fact I would only trust one that was restored by myself.
