If I could ...I’m a wing nut ...if I could I’d buy one of those electric Harley’s ...make me a one wheel trailer to pull ...and it be loaded battery pack to get all day travel on the road with it....if I could ...I bet those bikes are smooth as it gets ...biggestvreason I like the oldwings is how smooth they are and don’t beat you up ...

Funny you should bring this up,...my wife was just at a conference, and met an engineer who worked on the electric harley team. She related to me that the new electric harley is the best handling bike he has ever ridden! Also said the acceleration is most impressive too. Soooooo.... if you come up with the bike and the battery, I'll volunteer to help make the one-wheel teardrop trailer a reality. I haven't tried a monowheel design yet.

I could see HD adding something to their electric bikes to make them vibrate.

My softail doesn't vibrate much, and I like that....but maybe they could add a recorded engine noise, to reassure me I'm still on a harley! :hihihi:

At Barber this year they had two Ebikes (Zero derivitives, I think). I was impressed that they continuously accelerated the entire length of the straights (which are pretty long there) and pulled all of the others out of the curves. Talked with one of the riders that said a 9 lap race plus warm-up and cool-down only used ~50% of his battery, and with a standard charging station (not turbo) he could full top off in 1.5 hours. BTW, single-wheels trailers are great. We've pulled ours (a Uni-go) over 5000 miles so far.

Well after reading the article ...12 hr charge was not lining up ...for 12 hrs riding ...I’m sure there’s better set ups than this Harley seems to be ..I’ve worked with electric motors a lot ...there’s no comparison in there brute strength and torque ...over combustion motors ....but the trade offs of having a power supply are huge ...

I said it before, in a similar thread...What will Harley riders do without the noise?!?! Put playing cards in the spokes.

well I see a few short comings with the Harley electric bike. first there is the Harley sound or lack of it. if this new electric bike is so smooth how are the bolts going to vibrate loose? and lastly where do you add the oil thats suppose to leak out ?? :)

Well, after all the harley's I've owned, and the others I've ridden, I think most 'enthusiasts' would need to have some obstruction added which sticks out the side right where their right knee is, and another bulge by their left foot, to splay it out. Without a carbeurator and a primary chain case in the way, the electric would actually have ergonomics that would leave a die-hard HOG-fan totally lost...

Wait, British motorcycles actually can get into a condition where they run? ;)

Well, as long as the brakes aren't dragging, and you're at the top of a long hill...

But hangon, now... show some respect --- disabling the ignition was the British way of assuring that all the fasteners would stop loosening up!!!
