Just an update, It seems I have fixed one major neck problem and wearing a helmet is no problem anymore least for now. After this post and more then a year of severe neck pain I went to work finding a way to loosen it up, I finally ended up laying on my back with my neck at the edge of the bed and a towel rolled up under it then used my hands to push my forehead back and to the left and right. Every day for several days ,heard plenty of cracking/popping but it worked, still tight and some popping going on but but so much better and no pain wearing a helmet, Chin is up posture is even better...I should have tried this sooner, the trick was getting my hands to push back and twist while the pain increased, Looks like I am on the mend with do it yourself chiropractics.
Still working on it but way better.
Thanks for the well wishes and hope all of you stay on 2 wheels without pain.

Great to hear Jeff :good:
My wife hangs off the edge of the bed to sort her back out as well, seems to work well for her

The insurance companies really should provide chiropractic coverage, Its a proven cure if only the cracker would just get to work cracking and not try and milk you with pre crack visits and after crack maintenance.

well jeff don't give up just yet, on the wing or on riding!
I've had a pinched nerve ( c-7 ) and herniated disc in my neck since '98. couldn't ride a bike from then until '07. get rid of the wing isn't likely to happen, I need all the comfort I can get. when I got back on a bike my thought went to the number one thing that would more than likely affect my neck the helmet. you would think a half helmet would be the ticket but it doesn't feel balanced on my head and caused the most problems so I gave it to my nephew. what I ended up with at the time was an hjc cs12 because for a ff helmet it was light weight. my neck is stronger now and wear a 3/4 hjc ac-3 helmet. the wing despite being heavy offers a great ride for me, not too harsh. I still go through times when I'm uncomfortable but it happens even if I'm in the cage. be comfortable and stay relaxed
