Bev I got this parts bike, it is all in peaces, but almost all there. What say I bring it down, you put it togather and I give you a couple of bucks and a lot of pats on the back? :smilie_happy:
    :smilie_happy: :smilie_happy: :smilie_happy:

Sure anything for you Toy ... :smilie_happy: If I can't fix it I will play hell trying  that's for sure, I get that mind set and go do it....there's only one issue, I have a neighbor man who will report me if I run a business out of my house.. Now if I were back home in Kansas City my neighbors would probably come help... :smilie_happy: Or at least stand there and drink their beer and supervise me... :smilie_happy:

I read a book "Shop Class As Soulcraft" by Matthew Crawford. He is a philosopher turned motorcycle mechanic. His way of how to charge for the labor is interesting.

I think $250 is definately too little!

Yeh, I told them I wasn't charging them like the motorcycles shops would have.. I wasn't even gonna charge him that much, but it was a pain..

you did good beav you did something that most if not honda shops wouldnt even touch ...that bike was doom to the scrap heap just like they want it it wasnt for you ,,,bike and the people were spared the world BS ...thats what makes us who we are :good:

I feel your pain! That's what mine looked like when I bought it (CB750)... Taught myself how to do, really enjoyed it, but I understand why no mech would touch them, or if so charge you more than the bike is worth. How are is an engine to rebuild on one of those... Mine needs a valve and ring job. Which is why I went and bought the GL1100. I needed to ride to work. You did some good work there, and you are right. It is almost an art form these old Honda's, and that's why I am in here. Younger guy loving these old bikes, and if I can learn from your lessons, I can continue to ride these amazing machines. GREAT SHARE!

I like the challenge and my wife won't allow me to buy any more junks (LOL) so working on some one else's for small amount of money and satisfaction will be tempting but I guess pressure for the success/deadline may take any pleasure away..

Wait.

So if I tell her this is for some one else and work on it but can't fix it so end up getting it, will that work?

Hmmmmm.

Bev I love a challange and take one every morning. I say "self I challange you to get up this morning" So I think to myself "how bad could it be anyway" Then I get up . Then I find out what a mistake I made, but it is too late by then. :smilie_happy: :smilie_happy: :smilie_happy:
