A good friend of mine shipped his bike back east using this company. He was very satisfied with the way everything was handled. He was also able to drop the bike off at their Santa Fe Springs Ca depot. Give it a look https://motorcycleshippers.com/

If you belong to AMA you can get a discount with this company. Still it won't be cheap. As someone mentioned the "motorcycle" shippers use enclosed trailers, have all the equipment & people and will take the best care of your bike. There aren't many out there either. Could go to a local bike shop that receives their new bikes from the east coast (ie BMW. etc) & ask who the shipper is, maybe they look for something to drag back east. Might require crating the bike though & that's not free. Just idea

Thanks for all the Ideas, really helps, I`ll be moved out next weekend up to the high desert then get myself together for a spring trip to Ok, may just go for the $800 ship then I wont have to worry about 2 trips back here or selling the bike.

Yea, I cant see even a regular motorcycle trailer working given the size and weight of the full dressed GL, flat bed would work..

Brought my 84 home on one, behind a full sized Chevy van, worked great never moved a bit. :good: Lot's of spots to strap & fasten to, a spot for the front wheel to run into, so it can't move forward. :yahoo:
