Welcome to the site from the far east (New Jersey :hihihi: ) :clapping:

Why do you think it needs rings and guides? Low compression? Smoke? How many miles on her?

just lost my response due to human error...back is a bother right now need to walk it off, will get back on this a bit later

Welcome to the sight, bike looks good in the pictures. I was also wondering what she's doing to make you think she needs rings.

Without having done a compression check, I am observing longer blue smoke warm ups and I believe more oil consumption. I have only had a short ride time this year (still attempting to ride). Just did another oil change, and observed the oil blacker than black and down quite a bit.
I am hoping to get the time to do a compression check this week.

Two of you have asked the same question. I copied a response I am pressed to get my work done for the day as I hate being out in the cold.
And right now I am enjoying a rare clear warm stretch of weather, that is quite odd for the Northwest. And I can get some more miles in

Most likely is the valve seals leaking a bit. Wouldn't hurt to run 8oz of ATF in the oil to clean things out and maybe the seals will tighten a bit after the crud is gone.

been running Seafoam in the crankcase and fuel, and am now running with MMO in fuel. I maybe nuts but it sounds smoother with the MMO and is now idling a bit higher as well. Idle was at 900 , now about 1000 to 1100. She gets out strong when I ask her, but I am a grandpa on the road, with everyone out to kill me I really have only watched for the incoming cars and trucks not the exhaust. Will look today if I get the opening to get out. back to work.

Riding a bike is more likely than being a Grandpa on the road for everyone out there on trying to kill us Bobalou.Stay safe :good:

running with 8oz atf fluid on the engine oil will tighten valve seals?? :headscratch:

Not exactly tighten as much as clear debris that is breaking the seal by deforming the surface. They are rubber and will eventually return to shape if they haven't hardened.
