Side note Steve; I just read an article talking about the carbon monoxide leaks in the Corvair heating system. Is that an issue that has a resolution?

Basic maintenance would prevent any issues. The '60 and '61 models had an optional gasoline heater, which sounds pretty scary! They used a heat exchanger, so no fumes could enter the car. After '62, some of the air used for engine cooling was diverted from under the engine, into the car. If there was an exhaust leak between the head and manifold, or a head gasket was leaking, fumes would be drawn into the car. Similar to early VW heaters. They should've used a heat exchanger for these as well. GM trying to save a few bucks...shocking!!
