I could cry, she aint the same... I was just leaving work when I see one of the large(7 ft tall) linen carts the hospital uses had found it's way across the back lot into the driver door of a friends new Hemi truck. I park old Girlfriend so I can get the cart off my friends trunk when while rolling the cart back to it's place CRASH! I turn to find her completely on her side. I lost my left mirror and hi-way peg and she doesn't want to downshift right...

:crying: :crying: :crying: :crying: :crying: :crying: :crying: :crying: :crying: :crying: :crying: :crying: :crying: :crying: :crying: :crying: :crying: :crying: :crying: :crying: :crying: :crying: :crying: :crying: :crying: :crying: :crying: :crying: :crying: :crying: :crying: :crying: :crying: :crying: :crying: :crying: :crying: :crying: :crying: :crying: :crying: :crying: :crying: :crying:

edit - the fairing repair held...

I have no idea. It's windy, but the bike fell towards the wind. Maybe the slight downgrade + front wheel to left + sail like windscreen was enough to push her forward...I'm ill over this. If it wasn't 110F outside I'd be trying to figure out why she doesn't downshift right at lower rpms. I have to almost force it into gear on the down shift from 3rd down. Nothing hit the shifter, oh and I think the bars are bent too. :head bang:

thats a real shame ........ so , you lost the Left Mirror.....so, had to fall on the left side. so.......the side stand had to flip up ???

That bites, Randy!
Had to have fallen forward off of the kickstand, right? Can't see why it wouldn't shift right tho, if you can't see anything that hit on the shifter....hope it's something simple on that. Reckon it did something with the clutch lever...maybe stretched the cable, or something like that?
Don't have any good mirrors, or I'd offer one up.

So sorry to read this. If the bar is bent it may have changed clutch adjustment. Check that out and see if you can regain your down shifting. Once you know more post it up and we'll help what we can.

This must be it. I saw a scuff on the fringe, slight bend in handlebar, and the lever seemed sloppier. I'll tighten it up a bit, and see what happens. :ahem:

It wasn't long ago when I parked mine in the garage. Guess I didn't have the kickstands full forward and as I was getting off the bike it went down. Cost Mr a windshield and left mirror. For me a good lesson learned the hard way. I feel your pain. Hopefully the gear issue turns out to an easy fix.

Leaving it in neutral, a gust can catch the windshield and roll it off the side stand. Don't ask how I know.

I never thought of that happening, good thing to keep in mind.

A few weeks ago in high winds mine blew over on the right side. only damaged my pride. The new aftermarket mirror was $17 though. The fairing was already broken. not too much left to wreck on mine.

Hmmmm...how DO you know? :headscratch:
:smilie_happy: :smilie_happy:
I've seen mine roll forward or rearward like that more than once. So far, I've been able to catch it before it lays over. I may need to get me a set of wee little wheel chocks to carry around, and chock the tires like an airplane.... :Egyptian:

Is the fairing really that bad? I was surprised how easy it was to repair.
