Wow that is some project :clapping: . I would love to try a enclosed bike after many miles running in the rain. But coming across Texas with high cross winds I don't think I'd what that extra high up profile. Heck even passing or getting past a big Semi truck with a bad air flow trailer sets up some mighty big turbulence.

Thanks!

Yes, cross wind and turbulance are certainly a concern.
Hopefully minimal sideway profile of the roof will not be affected much.
If it's similar to or less than my previous Unison leaner rig, it should be manageable.
That had a large sideways profile, although much lower than the roof.

That is going to be a great cockpit. Looking forward to seeing the gauge panel, so much space and area to work with.

Ahhhh
Yes, it will certainly look great if there are lots of gauges like airplane.

Voltmeter
Fuel pressure
Plenum temp
Ambient temp
Clock
Altimeter (LOL)
Barometer (LOL)

anything else?

Bank angle sensor, wind speed, and a communicator with a whole bunch of knobs on it. Lol

Hee hee... well, I hope that once you've got it all sorted out... that all those sharp-looking interior edges get softened... if you ever wound up having a 'bad day', you'd get tossed in one side, and come out the other looking like coleslaw... 8-O

What?
Do you think I need a seat belt and airbag then? LOL

You shouldn't think of a 'bad day' on a motorcycle. Otherwise you will end up driving a car...

So true.

Amen!!! My British pals refer to them as "Cagers" for a reason.

Winter gets a bit long out here at times... so when opportunities arise to escape automotive confined space, I waste no time doing so... and of course, if I get sent south on a job assignment, I wanna take my 2-wheel'd therapy vehicle...

Well ironically my OldWing is getting a semi-cager.. LOL

Update:

Worked all day during three day weekend. Finally upper fairing took shape.

Haven't decided how big the side panel will be. Is this too big?

I had a thought, could you use rivets in places instead of the nuts and bolts to save some weight and maybe cost?

I use some rivets but prefer nuts and bolts so that I can access that "electric junction box"(?) at the steering stem without removing the fairing completely. I will use threaded inserts in some places so that I don't have to hold the nuts from the other side.

Right hand side lower fairing is done.

Duct for radiator hot air. By adjusting the door opening, hot air can go 100% outside or 100% inside and anything inbetween.

Need to do the same for left hand side.

How bout using fans to duct the hot air from the engine compartment to the outside, going to get a heat build up I would think.

You think so?
I don't see significant difference between stock fairing and mine.
That "shark's gill slit"-like stock opening only got around 6 square inch area total.
Mine is around twice as big.
