Sounds good,

Are you able to get it to idle lower?

I didn't make any adjustments yet. I'm trying to fix the vacuum thing. West, thank you so much for your advices and hints. :hi:

jungo your amazing
:nea: Naahhhh , YOU'RE amazing. Since I saw your thread " hooch getting a new fuel source" that motivates me to do this. You're the sensei.

Jungo,

Adjustments for the 34PICT3 is

When ever you make adjustments, know your starting point

If you are going to adjust a screw 2 turns in, count them as you go, if it only took 1-1/2 turns you have a place to go back to, a starting point.

Write down how many turns each screw was at for your own reference.

Now

the adjustment for a 34pict3 Is:

Turn in your TWO adjustments screws, all the way in Very genitally, do not force them, or you will break the fragile adjustment screw tips off.

After you have turned those two screws all the way in, turn each one out 2-1/2 turns.

Start it up again and set your idle,

Then lets see another video, of it idling with a few revs thrown in

Yes, please,

Vacuum leaks are 1st.

Adjustments will follow

Jungo try spraying

Ether/starting fluid around all connections this tell you if you have any leaks

and where they are

with the engine running

start spraying one side and at each connection,

You can use a piece of card board to shield other connections so you dont get a false leak

spray the front while blocking the back, then reverse it.

in between the carb and manifold every connection, go slowly

I am sorry,

If i seem redundant, and am repeating my self, by bringing up old already stated info, or stating the obvious, possibly going to slow for some.

I am trying to keep information that i think is currently pertinent to what we are trying to achieve now! fresh in our minds.

Also,

I want to give some insight as to my thought process along the way, for collaborative brain storming, with other thoughts from a basis starting point, even if taken a different direction, maybe that is not needed, and i am just slowing the thread down with unwanted info, that is not needed?

Until all avenues have been exhausted and Ultimate Goal is achieved we are Not finished
i find the approach taken here as :ahem: refreshing :yahoo:  :good: :music: :salute:  :thanks: :Egyptian:  :clapping: : :rocks: :moped:
and particularly interesting for us new folks

No vacuum leaks. Carb idle has been set. Tomorrow will continue to look the way I can fix the throttle cable. :builder:

Thanks Joedrum, Westgl and the rest of the gang for the hints.

Jungo

Nice Idle!!

Nice revving.

Looks like you may have a good runner there.

I look forward to a Ride report

:thanks: Thank you Westgl. I want to publicly thank you for your help and advice in this modification. I will publish the report here as soon as I can fix the throttle cable. Once again thank you. :thanks:

yes it dose ...i have some info on first ride ...but its jungo job to post it when he feels ready to

on hooch ...im pretty much going with the jungo mod to the runners ....

this is diffinitly the fastst and easiest metal runners to do ...in my opinion ....

hooch is running fine right now but im to straitening things up ...I just got new gauges to put on ... and im trying to scronge some conduit or something to do the runners ...

as I know for sure this is staying in hooch ..

I have been going back and fourth, to find the Best way to do Rev.#2

I was limiting myself by trying to go as cheap as possible, and re-use the OEM manifolds, for every one.

The limiting factor is Try to use the OEM manifolds, and OEM plenum.

Mainly the OEM manifolds.

The OEM manifolds are the cause of the "S" curve to be so drastic.

Their gone, from Rev.#2

I will be using a more of a direct angle, from VW manifold to head

So Rev.#2, is going to take a new twist.

I need to get some more alum.

I will start by building a mock engine, template.

So i do not have to back to the engine for everything.

This can also be taken where i need it, while working, for trial fit ups

And if i use a heat source, I will not go ka-boom.

You are welcome Jungo,

I am glad to be of help.

OK,

I am back from my long journey into town, had to make several stops.

I was able to do some work today just not as much as i wanted to get done

I picked up some material for my Mock engine, w/ Manifold bolt to Head Location.

This will come in handy as one side will be marked for GL1100 other side for GL1200

I may do a GL1000 or at least check with My brother in laws carb rack and have all 4cylinder bikes on this one engine plate, wouldn't surprise me if GL10 & 11 are the same.

I was able to get One cyl. of the VW manifold done, ground to where i need it.

This ala Jungo, & CM85.

Now, I to cut out my tube to head mounts, then measure the correct tube length, so that I can cut the tube to the correct length, that is where the Mock engine comes in.
