Here's the supercharged Triumph mentioned above that I'm involved with.

Neatest part about this bike: the rider (Rosie Lackey, Jr.) is 75+ years old and a true inspiration to me!

NICE ! when i was a teen i had a neighbor that was like the Don Garlits of my small town, would always help him on his 1929 Chevy Drag car he was much older than me ..he just passed on a few years ago..had not seen after i left California 23 years ago...seen his Son by fluke one knight on Speed channel and recognized the 29 Chevy, We would take it down the blvd and do wheelies in town back in the 1970's, he was my mentor also His Son just redid the 1929 in respect to honor Sr hid dad .The 29 went All the way On Pinks All Out and Won ! after the show i found Ricky on FB after i heard his dad passed at the end of this video https://www.facebook.com/speed/videos/1260198538914/

One of my favorite supercharged GL1000s was built by my friend Lars Nielsen, aka "Octane" of Denmark.

Lars provided some very helpful technical assistance on some of my early supercharged bikes.

OK one more for Sunday morning ..This guy rides the $hit outa this thing here in New England..always run into him at events , he has Butterflies in the end of his dragpipes with a Cable hooked to his throttle to keep back pressure, they open when throttle is applied ..Dig this backyard Burt Monroe stuff lol Supercharged CBX 18.photobucket.com/user/meloafer/media/carshow032.jpg.html]

Yes. I'm familiar with that CBX although I've never seen it in person. He did a great job with that bike!

On my CBX, I used a much smaller, narrower blower (62 cubic inch) that allowed me to drive off the jackshaft (at the normal alternator location). That kept the whole bike much narrower vs. the normal option of driving off the crank.

The smaller blower also meant I had no low speed back pressure issues to solve.

The bike was wicked fast and actually pretty scary to ride. To make it more manageable for street riding, I eventually reduced the drive ratio to deliver only 4psi max boost ...still VERY entertaining. It made max boost from a very low rpm level so it was very locomotive like.
I run a small Eaton M-45, perfect for street app and limited space, with a Bypass so if i loose a belt i can limp home lol..."don't ask me how i know this ! LOL " these GL motors can take some abuse ! i have pushed mine many times and even with 8lbs of boost i get 128 lbs of torque, your are spot on with the performance i have Scared myself on my GL more than once.. my thoughts of using NOS was for Liquid Intercool, with not having a intercooler on this app..worked very well , The nozzle is a direct Shot in the intake of the Blower and the best way to describe it is Violent !! when the Trigger is pulled..i have many friends ask why i wear a helmet always ..i just smile a say you would not understand . I have the Purge Aimed just right to Squirt V twins making too much noise to right at stoplights :ahem: !!! hahahaha

Read borthers as brothers. Named thumper because it does like naming a big hammer Thor. You are sore (thor) when you hit yourself.

Wonderful! I'd love to see more pictures of your bike.

I too have had a broken belt "adventure." I switched to Gates Racing "Blue" serpentine belts to solve all that. Serpentine belts also give you more insurance in case there's ever a lean backfire. Those are very hard on plenums.

Couple pics of the GL I run 2 electric fuel pumps with regulators Dyna 3000/w timing retard and NOS retard 3-1 VMC tuned Header exhaust Barnett racing clutch and Webcams stock bottom. last Visit i road it 200 miles to Rice O Rama to bring home First place.

That sure is a work of art :good: Makes me feel pretty guilty that I haven't washed my bikes in months, maybe this month

And we want the functional performance to exceed the performance of my earlier supercharged GL1000 which had a "one-off" supercharged set-up.

This one will use a more commonly available 60" blower by Magnacharger.

That is a cool bike! What wheels are they? How did you get the side covers to or are chrome?

they look like painted lester wheels gerry....it is a very decent looking bike ....with lots of mods ...i was always wanting to see a vid of power through the gears one could get a feel of what it had ....

Thanks.

Those are powder-coated Lester wheels which were common "back in the day." The rear is actually a very rare 18" version. The usual size Lester supplied was 16" rear, but I wanted more "gear" to handle the substantially increased power output. Shaft drive bikes don't give you many easy options to experiment with final drive ratio. Even with the 18" rear, the bike would blow right past redline in 5th gear ...which as you probably know is an overdrive gear.

The side-covers are actually hand-made from aluminum by master fabricator Evan Wilcox. See: https://www.wilcoxmetal.com

Here's a brief video showing the bike's acceleration:
