2 Kids and 43 years later she'd rather I take her on the Goldwing than in the van. I'll turn 70 this year and still ride with one of my high school buddies. And yes I know my life is blessed.

I truly envy those who have spent a lifetime with their mate. After 22 years, 14 years ago, #1 and I parted amicably.

12 years and counting with wife 2. She and I are in it for the duration.

There's something special about watching a couple who have been together for decades, but have kept the spark.

My current wife is quite happy on her Ninja 250. Looking to upgrade to something like a V-Star 650 or Vulcan 500 soon. She likes cruisers, but it is hard to find her a bike that fits with her short stature.

Question... Will any of your wives ride with you? Mine won't... she can't stand wind or a helmet...
Nope, Mine won't ride either as a passenger or on her own. She says she doesn't want to risk injury to us both with the kids depending on us. Makes total sense and I don't argue with her. The most she's riden on a bike is one time 15 years ago with me around the block.

As I implied, she rides her own motorcycle.

I don't think she'd be comfortable riding on the back of my motorcycle for a long time. Too boring.

Got my learner's permit and a brand new KZ400 on my 18th birthday. (The folks weren't signing off on that any earlier) Once I got my full license, and could take a passenger, my then 14 year old future wife, got the first ride. Her dad was ok with it because, 1) it was just around the neighborhood, 2) he thought I was trustworthy & 3) I gave her my helmet and I went without. 12 years later we went on our first date. She loves riding. (She once knitted while we went down the NJ Turnpike on our way to visit her folks outside of Philly) Child rearing has put a damper on 2-up for a couple of decades now.

All the time, in fact hard to sneak a solo ride in :smilie_happy: :smilie_happy:

This topic is sliding off from the original post (which I am also about to do,,,,, :0fftopic: ), but I am also happily married 33 years this past October. :clapping: :salute:

Does she want to ride with me? You tell me:

Unfortunately, in 2013 she had to have two discs removed from her neck replaced with bones and plates and cannot ride anymore. But, for sure, she enjoyed it!

Our first date was out on my boat:

Our second date, I picked her up on this:

Even though we are selling this:

Now, we enjoy this together:

Gerry... I could say I'm sorry to hear that she had to have neck surgery done, but after going through a very rare collapse in my C5/C6, having the surgery done gave me my life (and use of my left arm) back, I'm glad to hear that she did. I have a SLIGHT loss of right-left rotation, but not enough to cause any issues riding, and frankly, that 5/6 issue was one of the big reasons I kept my bike... and bicycles... parked for a long time.

Here's a '54 Century Resorter my dad owned...

I had a picture of me way-back-when... hmmm... can't find it...

My oldest just registered for Selective Service, my youngest is looking forward to having a 'real' driver's license this summer, and celebrated 23 years on Friday. A friend of mine... a Silent Service Sailor, said once: "relationships are fragile"... but I don't think that's entirely correct. Weak relationships may be fragile... but well maintained relationships are strong, and as a result, can be incredibly durable.
If that was Friday the 17th it was also our anniversary. 33years.
