Glad you are still moving. I'd still drag that bike home if I were close enough to grab it.

At last I am on the Alaska hwy.497 mile marker. The hwy is all ours. No cars for 10miles. Occasionally a semi .
Got up yesterday and cloudy. Got packed and drove out the park and rain all day long.. Went 300 miles .

Supposed to rain next4days.
The drive is amazing ly with the scenery.around every bend a totally different view.
Taking our time.
No wildlife to be seen yet.
Later.

Great to see that you are getting closer. Shame about the rain but we can't control the weather  A trip of a lifetime Wes :good: :salute:

I probably will not have a wife when I return.
Valerie is easy to handle .
Hot springs felt so good we are staying another night.

The bike did have a hitch.
The speed ometer and odometer are in metric. I have no clue how many miles I am doing.

I hope so, or he really may not have a wife when he gets home... :smilie_happy:

Made it to otter falls. Hope to make tok tomorrow.sprinkled all night. Quit when we got up so did not have to pack in the rain.
Made 300 miles today. The road has been very good. No nasty sections. Don't who was with us from glacier for a couple of days-until my 1100 died- found us in camp tonight.he could not take camping so he went moteling. He is on his way back home. Said our next 200miles are the worst.

Did see the sign forest. Bigger than I imagined.

Seen 3 whitetails, 1elk, 50_60buffalo.

Leroy is extremely tired. I am tired but not exhausted.
I think I am getting 10kilometers to the liter on my new bike.
Sleep is next. Good nite.

the valkerie is very loud with wind. it comes up from the wheel and legs over the gas tank.. it only has a windshield and nothing else. the only gauges on it is a red dot fr oil' green light for neutral. and an orange light for the kickstand.
and a speedometer in khm and an odometer in kilometers. nothing else. not even a gas gauge. i get about 150 kilometers then i got to turn the reserve tank on.

it starts right up runs good with the trailer. going up the mountain I can onlygo as fast as when I start the climb. I can not get it to accelerate. But at least it got me to Anchorage ALASKA!!!!!!!

the Alaskan Highway is not for a novice bike rider. the dips and heaves makes the front wheel do 0ne thing
and the rear wheel do something else.. I was surprised how little traffic there was. One car about every 10 miles if that. Most of it was paved and chipped and sealed so not bad. But when you hit a patch you better be on your toes.

I ran out of gas once and filled with extra can and ran it out, then we had a 1/2 can of coleman fuel. got with in 4 km from the gas station.
Rained hard all day long. went to napa to get a wheeling bearin cup/ and will need to repack that bearing.
decided to forgo the camping and fixing supper over the fire we splurged and ate at a cafe and got a motel for a shower and a comfy dry bed.

We did finally get to Anchorage.
later.

Great to hear that you have made anchorage Wes. Is Anchorage your final Alaskin destination?

We want to try to get to artic circle which is about 200 more miles. They say the first 50 miles is the worst. Also want to go to Valdez.
Not raining this morn.
Not sure if w3 will get to tour delni or not.
