Glad nothing got hurt but your pride. I did the exact same thing with Red and realised halfway down that something wasn't right. It hit the ground fairly gently as I was trying to hold it back up but once you are over center there is no return and you just have to go with it. Worse still is that Red even has a fancy light to tell you that the stand is down when the ignition is on..

If this had been you would it have been a " Gerry Gem over" ? :smilie_happy:
:smilie_happy: (I laugh becuase I did what AApple did at least 5 times now in various places!)

Well, I worked on the vacuum leaks on the manifold, the ones at the base of the carb have been resolved. This involved pulling the carb, the adapter, and the plate I made, it was definitely warped. I used 3/4 inch plywood, gorilla glue and some other Macgiver stuff to get it looked at. But I am closer to completing a ton of major work. I heard from another member that I created a vacuum leak when I pulled the choke. I will continue plugging away at it tomorrow.

Got the '82 all clean and shiny.
:good: Need to do the same to the Rats Nest but it looks like rain atm, need some for the water tanks

Finished preparing the carb. Plugged assorted vacuum leaks and performed a good once over on the carb. Switched back to the solid base gasket provided with the kit. Found a "hidden" leak issue onthe wire reinforced rubber tubes. Applying torque to them via the hose clamps casuses the wire to be forced through the rubber. They just do not seal correctly. But the carb fixes really helped, it starts first crank, and idles. I also adjusted the air/idle screw.

Update on my trailer, the PO did not want to part with the receiver portion of the clever hitch so I had to fabricate my own (handy being a maintenance man with access to a commercial machine shop!)

:crying: Sold the '82. :crying:

On the bright side, I got what I was hoping to get for it, It's going to a really cool guy who appreciates it, there's room in the garage again, and I can take care of some needed expenses. And I still have the '83.
