Don't forget to mention that the springs only tension the belts ONCE during initial setting of the belts. Once the tensioners are bolted down, the springs do not do anything and whatever tension the belts were set at, they stay there!

Buck if you have the tools you should be able to do this yourself. You are only resetting the tensioners, this is a common mistake as the spring tension is all that is required providing the springs are good.

Except that I am lost when it comes to some of this stuff. more so because I'm freaked out of screwing something up. Can we adjust them without fully taking out the radiator and just loosening it to work behind it?

I'm over in Meridian, but I'm afraid we're in the same boat. I'm new to all this Goldwing stuff too. I hope you get it all sorted out! I'll keep an eye out for ya around town! That's a beautiful bike!

This posting makes me feel like im making the right choice to replace my idler rollers. $200 but i wan to do it right while im in there. Bearings are expensive. Quality cost money and u usually get exactly what u pay for.

Did you look at replacing just the bearings out of your old idlers? This is a much cheaper option and there is information on how others did this job

Well, took us an other 3 hours, but we got it finally. Thank you all for all of your help.
