Uh oh. If you take it off, you'll be "naked" and will need to go "over there".

Still, I'll be surprised if that turns out to be it. On a few occasions, I had my dearly departed 1200 Aspy around 100'ish. While I was not altogether comfortable at that speed on the beast, it wasn't because of any noticeable instability. It was the plug in my rear tire that pulled at my conscience - don't ask me why...

Stock wing fairing's are frame mounted on the 1200's, as well as the 1500's, do not remember if 1100's are frame or fork mounted. :headscratch:

yes the vetter is frame mounted .......i dont think it mattrrs much how its mounted...in both cases the wind pulls the bike up and weight off the front wheel.....hooch really bucks during grear changes ...second gear can pull the wheel off the ground......if you look at the hooch accelleration vid you can see how the bikr pulls up...i have stiffen the spring since then ....this actually made it even easier to pull wheel off ground.....so maybe taking vettrt off might mske it worse instead of better......

hmmm now this is great idea....this focases force only where needed ...on the lower forks.....hmmmmm goshtwings .....what do others think ...im already looking at a way to do it......

I rebuilt a 81 KZ750 and it had a vetter fairing like yours. When it got to around 90 it floated, and was scarry as Heck.....I went over the Mississipi one time with a strong cross wind,,,,,,I wanted my MaMa !!!! The Bike just was not heavy enuff for that fairing...maybe add some weight to front end.

I can understand at 100 mph but under power at lower speeds I think is a different problem.

I picture under power less weight is on the front tire. Lighter tire means it isn't as capable to follow its straight line path. Rear tire alignment to the front, frame and fork alignment, even a slight bit untrue in the front tire tread itself could be just enough to get a wobble started.
Under power it could be torque steer brings on the wobble. I had a 3 wheel atc was real bad for that when it had loose swingarm bearings.

On my van I had warped front brake rotors. Could only slightly feel they were warped normally but hitting the brakes over 60 would set up a violent wobble in the steering. I sure didn't expect brake rotors to cause that because I've had warped rotors on many cars and never set up a death wobble lol.

Hmm yeah old front tire can act funky too. I sure feel improvement all around on mine with fresh tread compared to old and worn out, especially if it's worn mostly flat in the center.

kudos to sinko tires ..ive never had a tire wear so well and even ...it not totally worn out and has never degraded handling wise...and that makes me think the forks and all are set up good .....

i spent a lot of time modding and putting 1200 wheel on 1000 forks......just dont think in any way set up is off.....bike has always bounced hard in gear changes....and actually got more extreme with rhe taller 1200 final drive....
