My intention with this thread has been to see what 1" intake tubes will do only.
My method used to fit them will not stay. This is only a test.
The pics that follow are as it sits now.
It runs MUCH better.
Idle is smooth.
Acceleration is good even with a fast twist into the secondary opening and settles right down to 900-1000 rpm idle.
I can tell by the way it sounds it's firing much better.
With the old tubes I had I had to set the idle mixture screw out 5 turns more than it is now even though there were only very tiny vacuum leaks.
So far running in the garage I'd say 1" runners are a success but the ride report will tell more.
I won't be able to get a test ride in until tomorrow afternoon :crying:
Epoxy in the tube you knead in your hands is what you see.
It cures hard in about an hour.
I have one tiny vacuum leak at the number 4 head which I added a bit more which should seal it.
