today the beater rolled over 40k with the 83 engine,home built no heat intake and a out of the box stove bolt carb with the second bbl un-hooked!! Man do i love this old piece of you know what! And a HUGE shout out to say Thank You for all the help from the forum(You know who you are :wave: )...

How does one tell what year a 1100 engine is? i think the 83 is the only year with a round oil level window but is a number or something on the engine to let one know the year?

I'm getting ready to put a 1200 front end assy on my 1980 beater and have a very nice dunlop 130/90/16 tire for a rear use, my question is, can i run this tire on the front and has anyone had a problem doing this? 99% of my riding is interstate at 70 to 80 mph, not much on curves!.. what do ya...

I have never read anything about it but i gotta ask.... Has any one ever found a 18" or 19" rear wheel that will work on a 1100?? Mine is a 80 so i have a 17" rear wheel and with the 83 engine, it is Much Better on the interstate but being the pig that i am... I would like to lose some more RPM...

Howdy Gang! I am getting ready to install a 83 A engine in my 80 beater, the 83 enging has 6 wires from the netural saftey switch! Does anyone know what 2 colors of wires i need to use or my 80 idiot light? I am guessing that i will need 2 wires as one will need to be ground as it isn't grounded...

Howdy, 76 gl 1000 and will start right up and stop as soon as i let off the start button? Hold the start button in and runs/revs up clean untill you release the button? all stock except a dyna unit and resistor. Any one ever have this problem? I am new to wings and just love the old 1000's...
