    GL1000 ignition theory

The GM unit uses rising current to trigger the spark, you need to build a simple circuit (https://www.geocities.ws/loudgpz/GPZheiModForPoints.html) to reverse the action of the points. The Ford TFI unit can be used with points without any extra wiring, it also has better dwell control than the...

'80 GL1100 back to no spark.

It's really unlikely that both pulse generators would crap out at the same time. Do you have battery voltage at the black/white wires, on the coils and the spark modules?

Never fall asleep drivin this thing...

It's a 13 speed. Two of those levers are connected to air valves that are plumbed in to replace the range shifter and splitter valves normally found in the shift knob. Like all the little chrome snap-on covers on the dashboard and switches it's just a bunch of attention getting bull$hit. If he...

    tires

The Norton Commando used two "rear" tires(with the front tire mounted facing the other way), worked just fine. Not sure if that applies to something the size of a Wing.

As anybody DIY resleeve cylinder block on cycle

Sleeving isn't that cheap, besides the sleeve you are buying two bore jobs. The cylinder gets bored for the sleeve, then the id of the sleeve has to be bored/honed to suit the new piston. It's not economically feasible to do that unless you are trying to save some rare , unobtainable part.

    Value of this chevy truck?

$4500 for 40 year old dodge, with a 400 yet( gas mileage of a 440 and power of a 360). Think I would pass on that one(and I'm a Dodge guy, too).

    Blow-by and crankcase ventilation-fuel contamination?

It's hard to tell how much blowby is acceptable. A leak-down tester will tell you more about the condition of the rings.

    Blow-by and crankcase ventilation-fuel contamination?

When you shaved the heads, the decrease in the center to center distance of the timing sprockets retarded the valve timing. That will lower the compression numbers a bit(later intake valve closing). An offset key in the crank sprocket could be used to get the timing back to the original specs...

Whaddaya drive when you're not on your 'Wing? (just pics)

Used a D6C cat to yank it away from the snow bank so I could get the door open to start it. 4 feet of snow on the lowboy deck to shovel. Shoveled off and the cat loaded by noon. Slept pretty good that night.

    1955 Triumph Tiger PIA

I've got three of them, no electric starters, nothing starts as easy as a properly sorted Triumph twin. Even my Norton lights off with2-3 prods at the most. Starter buttons on Triumphs are for sissies.

A short chunk of pvc plastic pipe works great for pre-load spacers, just saw off a piece the length you need.

y type 3 way wiring connector

Ah, butt connectors, wonderful things! We have magnesium chloride to deal with on the roads here, used as de-icer in the wintertime and dust abatement in the summer time. Any exposed wire strands(like in the end of a butt connector) will lead to a rotted failed connection in just a short while...

If you're going to slip it over a stud why not save $5.07(plus shipping) and use three ring terminals for about $.75 ?
