The ATF is heavier than gasoline, and it will settle overnight, or after an extended period. While your riding, it's gonna stay mixed, since the fuel is sloshing around in the tank.
What I have determined on mine is this: Mine has only blown smoke out twice, on the first start of the morning, and both times, it was almost on Reserve. So, my thinking is, once the fuel level gets down to the reserve level, it's gonna pick up more of the ATF mix than normal, and therefore, the fuel bowls will also have a little more of the ATF in them when you shut it down for the night. I can't say if a leaky float will aggravate this or not, but it certainly seems reasonable enough.
That's my story, and I'm stickin wid it... :cheeky:
