Last June while at my Independent cycle repair shop I came across a pristine 1989 Honda PC800 (Pacific Coast) with just 10.789 miles on it. Found out it was for sale & bought it.
My Buddy was really bummed out with it as if I didn't buy it he had money in his pocket. He was gonna buy it. So I sort of bought it for all the wrong reasons. Knowing if I passed on it.....
Fast forward a month, We were out riding & found another PC about 40 miles away. Brought my Buddy to see it & he bought it on the spot. It's a Red 96 that just turned 14.000 miles as he test rode it. What are the odds of finding 2 of these with low miles on them in basically in the same neighborhood!
Back in the day when these came out I would turn my nose at these as I was so into Goldwings. Now that I'm older & been there done that with the GoldWings. I've found this bike to be quite a pleasant surprise! Quiet, lightweight, comfortable. smooth, and simply a blast to ride! I now have 18.900 miles on it since June. Never thought it would be so much fun for this 62 year old! Took it on the dragon this year!
One of the main reasons I bought it was because its probably the last of the mid size shaft drive bikes. (other than BMW) that's affordable.
Trouble is with just over 15.000 of these built. Plastic parts are getting hard to find. Lucky for me the 89 pearl white are the easiest to come by.
My friend needs a left side mirror assembly as his GF tipped his over. Does anybody know if there's a place to buy these new or is there a Goldwing used parts place out there that may have parts for a PC.
Still have my Old 78 GoldWing. Its not going anywhere!
