it wasnt easy dan this was all gooped in and rather difficult....in fact i was not happy with how much was used as it could be in motor ... the dang bolts were jugt way over torque also been this way through out work on this bike everything way to tight ... but i suppose i was lucky also.... but if done right rubber sledge is where it at not luck .. you can create quite the shock wave that cant go far and breaks things loose without tearing much

ok pics

bolts loose after it has been beaten with rubber sledge... the sound changes when things get seperated .....when the beating on cover is done the bolts are just detorque nothing more :builder:

you can see where the gasket needs cut ..i actually pull it out this far to take pic ...i have the cover much closer when cut gasket with knife an prevent a place for it to go

image.php

this pics shows the clutch part of gasket stayed with motor ... not really all that bad it will go back together fine

image.php

you ca see th gasket is quit intact except for cut

1200 together with 1100 shaft installed and ready ... i saw nothing is 1200 rear to induce me to take anything apart it pass my observation of it and ill gamble on that :thanks:

So, Joe, you took the output shaft out of the 1100 and put it into the 1200 and then put the 1200 output shaft into the 1100? Why did you have to do that...won't the 1200 output shaft hook up to the 1100 drive shaft?

Thanks
Brian

the 1200 shaft is all the same but it is a bit shorter and has no c clip groove that the 1100 swingarm i am using has to have ...i put the 1200 shaft in 1100 donor motor as it is best place to store it LOL

raining today ... camera in hand ...going out to the dry doghouse for a jyd work out .....dang this motor suffers from po motor paint job i wonder how good the paint is for this type of work ... you can do the best prep in the world but that dose nothing for sorry paint ....witch seems to be biggest problem on the motor corroded state it in now ... so will do the best i can

i want some battle ship grey paint the boat builders use and ill just brusch it on ... ok gerry where is some salt water boat paint LOL

Okay Picasso!

ok after some wood splitting i will work on jyd today yesterday i couldnt get going good .... im ready to put motor in frame and there will be no painting of motor ....seems the water pump seems good so im am gambling on all the stuff being ok in front of motor too ... ive seen no indication to lead me to think different ..... will take pics

Joe, I know you are not painting the motor right now, but if you just clean real good and sand with 400 and 800 grit, just shoot it with the Duplicolor engine paint and it will look great! I didn't prime my engines before painting and they have held up great!

As far as "battleship gray" forget about it! It is lousy paint and it causes brain damage from the fumes! The only marine paints that hold their color and gloss are urethane based two part epoxy paints.
