hmmmm ....sound like your in the jetting zone now ....or it is good enough ... seems like the power should come on lower in the rpm ...hmmmmm

Should I feel huge difference in low rpm torque?
I don't feel much.
But I don't ride my Oldwing regularly and I ride other bikes of all different kind so my senses are totally messed up.
I am not that sensitive guy, I mean I can't really tell the difference of different tires.
I know it's not a Harley so it can't be that huge torque.
The only way for me to check the difference is to ride two Oldwings side by side, I guess.

I think your close ....but there is no reason for a weber to bog ...except you still have power valve on ... I am not sure this is an asset on a oldwing ...personally ive done away with the power valve so this is new territory for me ... with the old carb I had ..I had nothing but problems here and got rid of it so there was no extra feeding to the carb except accelerator pump ...of course my gearing is different and motor is 1200 and modified ... but it will run ahead of a Harley at low rpm ive done a few times ....

webers are highly tunable ...maybe you and dan can get together and work the jetting out or compare to his bike ...

The bog occurs only when the engine (and plenum) is cold.
Once warmed up, no bog what-so-ever. It just feels like stock 4 carb setting.
For that matter, stock 4 carbs also stumbled and coughed when engine was cold.

So only missing(?) part is low end torque.

I understand Dan's engine is not stock 1100 with different cams but yes I would like to have Dan's opinion on the current state of single carb conversion. Maybe I should ride to his place.

Sounds just like mine before the plenum warms up and once warm no bog.

Hello Dan.
Do you feel huge difference in low end torque?

With the stock cams the low end torque might not improve very noticeably but it should be a little easier leaving stops after it's warmed up.

Well I have a big difference loading the engine at low rpm. Example is at 1500 rpm in 5th gear it will accelerate without all the common lugging sounds, more a growl much like you hear from the 1500 and 1800.

Your welcome any time to my place.

Currently I can accelerate from 2500 rpm in 5th gear. Below that, the engine sounds horrible.
I don't remember what stock 4 carbs behaved in that situation.

Thanks for the offer.
It seems the rain is coming this weekend but if it stops on Sunday, do you have some time?
