Please post whatever you find! I've been searching for that same noise for a month. lol Mine only does it when your driving it though. Thought it was wheel or brake or tach/speedo related but running with rear wheel in air, jacking up the front and spinning the crap out of the wheel ... nothing I've done involks the noise in the shop! Nope, not a stone caught in the tread ...Loud ticking from front. Here’s a video
Pull heads and replace the bent valvesTook valve covers off and found this. Need your help, what’s going on and can it be fixed?
Bike is 86 interstate
You have to check the hydraulic valve adjuster according to the manual. Not the shims under each cap! If the engine is running, the valves are not bend.Is that the same engine with the knock in the earlier video? Very surprised it could even run if so.
Just added Seafoam to my 82 GL1100 last week for the same reason and there was no change ... in the noise or from my $20! lol My clicking only happens on acceleration, not cruise speed or decel.Well…. Just now have some days off and will take a closer look. I thought it was the water pump but I could be wrong. I poured seafoam in oil , will take it for a short ride …. Drain oil then add fresh and maybe that will quiet it down. Will keep u updated
