I just got a Beck/Amley FP from RockAuto. :Egyptian: But there is no paper...just a pump in a box. :headscratch: Can someone (maybe Denver) tell me which wire is + and -. There is a black wire with female connector and a black with yellow stripe with male connector.

Also, where in the bike wiring, did you connect the power for the pump?

Thanks :thanks:
Brian

The shorter one with the male end on it is positive. Did you get the connectors to make a harness to plug & play? :headscratch: From the sounds of it no,Cycle Terminal, in N J has any needed connectors to make up any harness. Just go to the coil & when it gets a pulse of voltage it goes to the pump as i remember :headscratch: Mine was already electric F P, so jumper was how i made it fit, so bought the connectors, & plugs they were even the same color. You could also run it off of your accessory fuse, to a relay, so you got no voltage with the kill switch on, and you would pressure up the carbs as soon as you hit the switch, with the switch in run mode.Thats how we wired the 1100 if memory serves, so you kill pump, & motor, if you fall with kill switch, or it just plain stalls out :headscratch:

Glad to help, if my memory is accurate, the 1100 that one of these was put into, ran beyond the expectation of the owner. :smilie_happy:

Just thinking about how to mount that pump. :headscratch: :read: Here is a shot of the OE 1200 pump.

I have the mount bracket but not the strap thing.

Trying to figure out how I can mount the Prelude pump in a similar way. Maybe make my own strap thing. :builder:

Bolts will both start, & then em crank down. :hi: Isolated the mounts on mine, before looking at it with glasses on, & saw it was insulated from the mounting tabs. As long as you do not ground the pump, all is well. :good:
