Some carbs have adjustment for more or less fuel from the accel pump. Might check the linkage.

I'm in north san diego county and use no heat on my set up. I can say that 1\4 turn on my idle mixture screw made the difference between off-idle dead spot and no dead spot in throttle response.( just got to find the sweet spot ) can't say what heat would do as I haven't tried it. idle between 900 and 1000 rpm.
However mine is a 1000 c.c. engine so this info may not apply. dave
