My Bike Models
1976 GL 1000 Goldwing
Hello, new to the forum.

I have recently purchased a 1976 GL 1000 Goldwing in very good original condition with only 10,700 miles, and the bike runs perfectly. The only concern I have is if I should have the motor polished and the exhaust painted or if I should leave it as original as possible. Which would be more desirable for a potential buyer?

Thanks,

Wayne

Light silver on the block , and some header paint on the exhausts , keep it tidy , it's yours don't worry about anyone else , it don't think they will ever be a HRD Vincent .and do the belts as mentioned .

I'm working on beautification of a similar bike, 23k mi, '76. I found significant rust in front of the rear tire. So I sandblasted the whole exhaust and painted it with vht flat black & vht primer. Chrome trim came out pretty nice

I think the pool of potential buyers is larger on the paint & polish side of that question.the polish really makes it pop. That being said, there is a good chance someone will spend more for a truly original bike, but you have to find them.
