Hi removed my 1100 gw water pump. on the top of the pump there is a hole about 4-5 mm with a passage down toward the shaft does anyone know what this is used for?

That's the weep hole. It allows coolant to leak from it if there's a bad seal in the pump. Oil can leak from it too.

That hole should be on the bottom, tho...
