Also took like 5 min of 4 unwind before the valves lifters etc stopped being noisy... had me scared for like 10 min because of how loud it was... it is good now.. she purrs like a kitten. Just gotta sync the olé carbs and she'll be good

Once the hydraulic adjusters get pumped up good with oil it should be quiet.
My new to me 1200 engine tapped real loud also for a good 5 minutes maybe longer.
Some tap has come back randomly for a few seconds but now it stays quiet.

Nice job, I'm following it closely as I am going to do it also.

any questions feel free to let me know.

now that ive done it, i would say the hardest part was taking off the exhuast and the running boards etc, those are a PITA to take off and put on.

If you lap the valves when your in there, all you have to do is make sure the cam is at a 12'oclock position when you put it back in (so if the head was on the bike the keyway would be facing up at 12,)

torque everything to spec,

fill the lil oil chambers (2 10mm bolts with square caps )

put heads back on.

This website was extremely helpful and i want to thank everyone who chimed in. Super helpful, i really appreciate it.

Unfortunately there will be no video right now of the process.

Not sure how far along you are but something I alway do after installing valves is hit the valve with a mallet to seat the keepers, or make sure they are seated, Not sure how the 1200 hydraulic valves are set up but you want to hit the valve stem not the hydraulic valve.

So I used that hose and cut it and made the bottom piece I think I need a better hose clamp on the bottom piece because it is leaking a teeny bit out of the top kind of odd going to go buy some new hose clamps tonight and hopefully that fixes it but aside from that she is good to roll any suggestions on how to make sure that bottom coolant tube doesn't leak I was going to pull it off and you some hondabond but I really would not like to do that

Be sure the clamps are not over sized. Too large clamps have a relatively flat spot under the screw that will often cause leaks.
