Oh and for the record... he is the baseline when it comes to single carb mods. At least he was until that post was deleted.
Could be any of the older inline fours with a vetter fairing. My 81 ran much the same but it was bone stock.":1x3g4ry6]
That hooch video is a demonstration of the true capabilities of the bike.
I don't know what that video from CM is intended to show by him but it doesn't show me anything more than any stock 1100 with a 16" rear wheel can't do, if it even is a oldwing.

No, my heat is copper pipe soldered to a steel plate bolted to the bottom.":3bo3wye6]
And he has the only type 4 plenum with a heat chamber! Don't you have a heat chamber on yours Dan?
Regardless how it's made or done a heated plenum is what it is. And whether it's heated by coolant or oil or exhaust it really makes no difference. Even the resistors as heaters still make it a heated plenum.":w3qsharh]

My favorite CM boast is having a manifold with 400(if memory serves) test holes for mapping air flow or something like that.
~O~
Yeah that was a crack up :smilie_happy:":23dak0sa]

i have looked at that vid a couple of times now. some thing dont look right to me with it. ( apart from the oil light thing ) :smilie_happy:":28tia1ul]
Yeah I seen that, 5500 rpm at 65 mph.":28tia1ul]
Never seen any such heads. But he has posted a vid on you tube. It's mostly blacked out and could be any bike really. Tach has a 10k redline. Comparing tach and speedo it could be an 80-81. No way to say. Might be a 750-4 with a vetter. No way I can tell for certain.
81 and maybe 80 oldwing will turn that with the 16" wheel he put on it.
I put 16" on the 81 engine I had and man, that alone with everything else stock makes for a very fast bike!
He must think he's fooling us, well the Saunders crowd anyhow.
Oh, the blinking oil light with the turn signal is a nice touch. Good one cm :good:
he wont answer my questions. :smilie_happy:":3kgg5lyy]
See the latest posts. I did the math. At 6500 rpm in fifth gear he would be going 108-113 mph depending on which tire he has on. He's only doing 80mph. He'd need a 13 inch rear rim for that. Clearly attempting to make himself into something special again. I gotta quit engaging him. He loves this stuff.

he revs that bike to 4000 to take off. i ask why ?
bike shows high revs at 65 mph or so . i ask why ?
so far , i am getting slightly abusive answers, just not to those questions. :smilie_happy:
i'm finding it mildly amusing. or , maybe it's me ? :whistling:
