Well I took the 1500 , Charged battery, went for gas ,about 1/4 mile from house, had no back break, bike went dead as gas stationn found loose wire tightende , so cancelled ride :sensored: will try to fix it tomorrow. Boy don't let these babys set too long , something always goes wrong. Pulled the 1100 down to replace neutral switch in prep for sale. replaced its oil filter will check oil sump screen while I am at it. Got a used (working) Nutral sw out of Latvia????? Boy that was the only one used on ebay 14.00 free shipping. New 60.00 + I guess a little international relations is good. Gee enen over there the have OLD WINGS :smilie_happy: :smilie_happy: :smilie_happy:

Sometimes they seem to have emotions & get jealous of the others getting attention & not them. Slight seepage of air into clutch on my old 84 standard, a bolt on line not lose but needed snugged, bled & all's well. (Had been working on my new 84 standard a lot, all the necessary stuff to make it safe to ride, most all of the summer.) Had rebuilt master & slave on old 84 a few years ago, stainless lines with new bolts & washers, so knew all the parts were good, & full of changed last springs brake fluid. Never had a problem with it before over at least 3 previous winters, it was really cold this winter, but cold & below zero then too. But the 91 sat on table & got a lot of work done & money spent all last winter & spring, then it sat on it all this winter, waiting for new tires, brakes, & fluid changes. :headscratch:

Ride report... what's to report. It's a GoldWing - Turn the key, push the button, and it starts.

As far as things I did to it: no oil leak at the rear case :clapping: (note to self... ALWAYS use some type of sealant (sparingly) in addition to a gasket no matter what others tell you), no more oil dripping on the toe of my left boot :clapping:, and no steam pouring out the exhaust :clapping:.

Oh yeah, I still need to do something with the carbs, but I am waiting until I have the 1200 back together before I decide what I am going to do... Pistol Pete, rebuild them myself, or replace them.

Carbs on 4's pretty simple, easy to do one at a time, a good cleaning, with new needle & seat, with float bowl gaskets, usually takes care of carb problems.

Yeah looking forward to it.
Don't know where we're going....don't much matter as long as we're riding.

Got the 84 standard fired up for the first time this year. Epoxy'd over the busted sight glass on the front brake master. Rear wheel has about 1/8" play. Not sure what to do about that for now.

last year the 1200 wing shorted out on me near the end of riding season. at the time I replaced the 30a dog bone fuse with another but still no power. today I put another 30a dog bone fuse in it and got power so I started up the 1200 for the first time and rode it to the gas station and filled the tank. my ( I did an alternator conversion ) alternator is testing good at idle but not at 2500 rpm, the meter is telling me there is a fault. jon did put the belt on and buttoned things back up but I noticed that he cut too many ribs off the belt. I'm thinking without enough ribs on the belt the alternator is slipping at higher rpms causing the meter to show a fault

William that sounds right about belt slip at revs providing you are getting 13.8 + at idle. If you are reading lower and it gets worse at revs then it is usually a faulty phase in the alternator/ rectifier :(
