I am doing nothing to my bike today, because it is too hot out.

However yesterday, I fit most of the plastics, redid the valve adjustments (the book was confusing about the specs for an 81, I did .004 intake and .005 exhaust. I did a bunch of other little things too, just cannot remember them...

Looks good is tank of a vfr too? just out of interest, you had some serious road rash there. get some kevlar jeans next time. glad your okay though.

I got the bike back on the road a week ago...used it to commute, then put about 125 miles on it on the weekend. It's running and handling great.............but............after my ride on Saturday I noticed coolant coming from the weep hole. I'm sure it wasn't leaking before the ride because I've been checking it carefully and it hasn't been marking it's spot. I guess I'll still ride it a bit, watching the coolant level carefully and be replacing the waterpump soon.......

headlight fairing: ebay supermoto style
tank: 06 CBR 600RR
seat: VFR not sure of year... 07?

set the timing last night back to stock. I had my old pickup and just did a swap to only find out it was bad. Put the otherone back iin and restet all is good no I just need to adjust the idle little rich with the timing back to where it is suppose to be. Also changed out the voltage regulator all is good in the charging department..

I really need to get a wheel brace, mine is a crappy home made one by the looks of things it has two 2" wide circular strips of steel with a couple on small wings attached to bolt it to the top of the fork shrouds just above the fender, and a bar of some description solid, hollow? that is welded to the two mounts and badly chromed, it is peeling and rusty, it is not worth restoring, so any one out there in UK land that has an ally one to sell or give away to a good cause, please get in touch, one made in ally and bolted is preferable. Pretty please. :thanks:

Rode it again! Another 120 mile ride [emoji41] [emoji322] [emoji323] [emoji322] I can get used to this...off to the beach with the wife tomorrow!

you need about two feet of multi stranded bike chain, taped together at one end, and draped over your handle bars, so when you get one of those that hate bikes you can give them a good reason too, and let them buy a new windscreen.

just got back from going to the coast and eating a bite .....about 80 mile trip there and back...got a chance to play with a couple harleys .....man the value of the front ride stands on a oldwing is huge the effortless parking of bike is nice

Jeff, you finished again? haha
 Yes I think this does it, need to put back on the polished fork brace and that should be the icing on the cake.
I now know how these bikes end up dressed in chrome, resisting the urge.
