Continued with my 1200 carb rebuild. read someone else's posting about using teledyne water pick to prove all ports and passageways are open. Worked great. Blew out part of a stuck oring on the pilot circuit. Also got all the jets cleaned in the ultrasonic, then used tarnx to clean up the parts that the ultrasonic didn't get. jets look new again.

Hmmm no mention of the rats nest. I've been watching my bikes shiver in the snow.
I need to give her some loving soon..
Finally a well needed bath.

Coffee stop at Maccas, first ride with the new hip. :good:

Got the wind wings on and finally had a chance to take a little test ride....it was in the low 40s and I wore my mesh-backed summer gloves. Judging from my short ride, I think these will work well at directing the wind from the hands. As you see in the pic there's plenty of clearance at full lock.

I brought my new to me '87 1200 home. Winter has FINALLY realeased it's grasp on Central PA, so I was able to get this thing home.

What you see is what I get. The seat needs some help, it needs a new right side cover (I have a blueish/black one in my attic that I got with my last donor bike) and there are some parts missing at the fairing. I was able to get it running after charging the battery for a few minutes. One (or more) of the floats were stuck, and I started killing all the bugs in my garage, so I had to shut it off. The rear tire is flat and the linked brakes need some work.

The PO gave up on bleeding the linked brake system so he took it to his friend's shop for him to work on it, and there it sat. According to the PO, the only mechanical thing wrong with this bike, are the linked brakes. $59,000 miles on the clock and I picked it up for $500.00.

Very nice find. $500.00 makes me think the money i amputting into my old girl is a wasted effort, but i have had her since she came out of the crate. On another note ijust recieved my new carb diaphragms in the mail. So it is time to start reassembling them.
