Talked to a LOT of people about it and finally rode it back out of the convention center, loaded it up, and took it home from WingDing 40. Had a great time.

Well....see....it was like this....I tore the bike down one winter to paint it, and sent a lot of engine stuff off to be chromed. And that's basically the end of that story. :smilie_happy:
Someone else went and paid for my chromed stuff from the chrome shop, and then refused to let me have it back(long, boring story there). So...I had part of a bike, that was part painted one color, and part anudder, and no engine parts to put back on it. I wound up selling it to my brother, who turned around and sold it to....you guessed it, the guy that had all my chrome stuff.... :sensored:
No one knows what happened to it after that, and the guy that had it was killed in a bike accident several years back, so....who knows where it am today. :crying:

Even though the long range forecast still shows highs in the 104 - 106F range, I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. Time to get after it! In preparation for that, I rolled the '78 onto the operating table and will order parts this week for the upcoming <gasp> head gasket job. Gonna do both this time even though I did the left a few years back.
The garage looks funny now. I'm used to seeing the CBX on the table...except for my early morning ride today. Hey, if the Harley guys can go out early during Summer, so can RC-Engineering-Piped-Six-Cylinder-Honda-Riders. I still have a set of Mike Nixon prepared carbs ready to go onto this one. I overhauled the ones that came on it, but apparently, I zigged when I should have zagged and the idle is rough as a cobb.
Happy Saturday!
A few years ago my central air system went bad and I bought one of "portable" a/c units that stands free like a dehumidifier. It did a pretty good job here for the whole house. One there should be enough to make the garage bearable if you have a port somewhere to dump the heat outside and a drain for any condensate. Just a thought.":3oasljm3]
I went ahead and ordered my parts for the head gasket job from Western Honda. The funny thing is that for us "locals", it's WAAAY cheaper to order online and check the "Store Pickup" option. I've done this for years, but as an example, Honda OEM gaskets are $41 and change online. If I were to order them at the counter, they'd be $58 and change. Crazy.
Anyway, parts are on the way. Now, I just wait for a break in the weather whereby I can get more than just a few weekend hours in the morning. Probably at least three weeks away... <sigh> (or I could just man up and sweat it out...)
...I'm thinking about going ahead and installing the early cams I have on hand. I have a cruddy matching advancer, but would really like a nicer one. It seems to work, but I'm not sure I trust it.
Divorce changes a lot most times. At least you aren't near drowning there. Been raining pretty steadily for almost 48 hours here.":1scuyk2v]
I would probably consider this, but space truly is at a premium in my garage. I literally don't have room to fart, much less consume more floor space...
I used to have an 1100sf detached garage/shop but, well, divorce changes things sometimes.
The reverse is pretty cool on this, but it's so slow, sometimes just easier to push manually.joedrum":85mk90rf said:Wow that’s a trike ....if I ever get one it will be a 1500 with reverse
