I pulled the right side timing cover. And let me tell you it was no picnic. Solid two hours to get that cover extricated. Why? Because there was a side hack and frame mounts and a crash guard on to which the floorboard was mounted in the way. Couple that with minimal wrench swinging space and perhaps a 2° angle of rotation on half the bolts and you will see why I stopped for the night.

Wotta pain. Enough to make me question my sanity.

Like a fool I took mine off to shine em up today. I quit after I wore a big blister on my index finger. I think it looks gnarly with tha
B:sensored:s off maybe I'll give them gears a lick of red paint and call it done

Put another 70 miles on it. :moped:
Hard braking downhill compressed the forks enough to make the tire hit the horns, so they really have to be moved. Other than that, no problems.
Use the top 1/4 tank of gas for 75 miles so I think the mileage it's getting is good.

My first post here. Finished the maintenance on my new to me 1100. Installed a better exhaust system. (mine was rotted) Went out for a nice Sunday afternoon ride. I am fighting a little stomach bug or flu. But still managed a 60 mile ride on my 1980. Nice little ride.

Got tired of always screwing around with the paper oil filter and filter bowl, so I ordered a spin on filter adapter from Randakk's a few weeks ago. Today was the day to install it. I had less than 1,000 miles on this oil/filter, but it is the first chance I get to see what this motor is doing, and I had some heavy weight Delo in it. Starting the bike up on the cold mornings was getting to be a chore.
