Dadgummit.....hate to hear Vince is "stranded" somewhere like that....

Just talked to V.

He's still at the rest stop North of Louisville on 71.

Another hose blew. Got that fixed then he was getting white smoke out the right exhaust, pulled one plug and got water spraying out the plug hole.
A truck repair is going to tow it into the shop tonight or in the morning to pull the heads.
It sounds like V will be renting a van to get home.

:crying:
Dang...when it rains, it pours. Startin to look like that thing had a head gasket issue to start with. Hope they can fix it without breaking the bank...... :beg:
Wonder if V has made it home yet? He'll prolly take a looooong nap once he gets home....I bet he's tired. :lazy:

Very stressful journey that man has been on..And and his lady..And it ain't even over yet..He is still going to have to go get his RV when they get it done....Oh my...

V just needs to go over EVERY thing on it.
I 'spect the seller was happy he bought it.

It makes sense now why the heater hose blew after the lower hose. Cooling system was being over pressured and I bet the PO knew it.

Yeah, V is sure having a run of badluck on this adventure but at least he had good friends like joe and dan and others to help all they could on the way to and from the meet. It's nice to know that when your out on the road.

Not meaning to make light of V's problems on this trip, lawd knows I been there meself, but it has to be done.
I hereby award Slabghost with the first ever, Offishul CGW Forums Hard Luck Award. This is one award no-one ever wants to win...and certainly never more than once. :Awe:

Yep, and now it blew the head gasket, they can only take so much......

Goldwing would blow the head gasket right of the bat.....

Hope you get it home soon Vince.

Well guys. Thanks to my great friend Joedrum and his entire family. I am finally home. Arrived here just before 3am. The bagel is in the care of a truck repair shop in kentucky. Now I'll go back and read this thread.

:yahoo:  :clapping:
That's a relief! Sorry you had all the trouble, but dang glad ya got back home finally. Time for a nap, and refresh yerself a bit. :good:

I feel like a blessed version of bad luck Shleprock from the Flintstones. Just about everything that could go wrong did. After all our efforts to get the drive line as right as we could make it. The hose to the radiator fill extension blew twice first fix only lasted 5 miles. Second time the hose and all blew off the radiator. I nursed it to the entrance to the rest stop and got pulled up into the lot. Camped there for a few days. Joe made the trip out to try and help fix it. We pulled the plug I suspected and started it with sealer in the coolant. A last ditch effort to patch it enough to drive. All we accomplished was washing the parking lot.
I called trying to get a Uhaul but no place was open or close enough to get to. I walked into town looking for a beater car to buy none to be found. Called Enterprise rentals (the ones who pick you up). They wouldn't rent one way from local lots. They would from airport to airport but won't pick you up.
I'll let Joe fill you in on the saga of our final mode of transport home. Going to work will be restful after this adventure.

hmmm ..i guess v wants me to say that i got a blazer we had taged and insured and checked it out for a trip ...then me and my son who followed me to where vince and hannie were at the rest stop ...where they were there with all there stuff from the bagel ...bagel was gone ...loaded it up and gave them the keys ...and me and my son went home and V and hannie went home ...i was so glad to get the call they were home ...it was a long battle of defeats but we hung in there and finished the race ....what a battle ...bagel still in louisville Ky ...V only miss one days work :clapping: :yahoo:

Ok then.
I see how this should all play out.
Bagel gets repaired, v drives the blazer back when he picks it up.
Joe will have to go fetch the blazer from the bagel repair shop.

Shout out to Joe and his son and I'm sure Patty for understanding.
You are good people.
