I'm replacing the floorboards on my new to me GL1100. I found the right side peg and bought it. On Ebay they're asking for your first born for pegs.

Are you looking for this?

I installed a pair of original pegs from a 77 GL1000 when I got my GL1100 3 years ago. They seem to work just fine.

Thanks I'll keep it in mind if I can't come up with an 81 peg.

There are a couple Facebook pages dedicated to early wings. I’m sure you’ll find what you need there

one notable difference is the LH peg on the GL1000 has the rubber bumper for the kickstarter. If someone asks you can tell them you took your kicker off, lol!

I'll tell 'em it fell off on the Pa. turnpike. :mischief:

There was never any rubber bumper on my '77 left peg, nor a place or reason to have one. The kick starter inserts into the kick start quadrant socket and swings AWAY from the bike. Quite clear of the footpeg.

Lol, don't look now, but the bumper pad on the LH peg is right there at the bottom of this photo!

Yep, I don't have a photo editor, or I would have circled it, too, lol! I liked kicking my 1st '75 GL1000 frequently, because it started so easily. When I got my 81 GL1100 3 years ago, it had M/C running boards which blocked my feet and hit my ankles. I tossed them and pulled a set of factory pegs from a 77 GL1000 project bike I still have, and that kick bumper stood out like it said "now what am I supposed to do?". So the notion of adding the kicker back to the GL1100 has been nagging me ever since. It is like an appendix just waiting for a purpose, lol!

Please forgive me for going on about it. I seem to have an eye for the not-so-obvious that apparently rubs some people the wrong way. But I just love all the little details about Hondas so much, I can't help myself! Soichiro was a man who believed the "devil was in the details" so to speak, and I admire him all the more for it.
