Resurrecting this older thread of mine to comment on the SH847 series RR from Roadster Cycle. As is known, I have the alt mod on my 1200. An ex-pat in Sacramento - we correspond quite often, CA was contemplating changing out the shunt RR for a series RR. He had a couple of used Compufire series RRs, but the install did not pan out. I shipped my SH947 to him, he installed it on his '85 LTD FI bike last year. I've asked on several occasions how the install went and how the charging system is functioning with it installed and to date, it is working well. He mounted it on the inside of the right saddlebag.
