:clapping: For real! That looks like a super nice job there, Joe! :yahoo: :clapping: :good:

pics of removable runners .. cutting holes in gaskets for head ports now
image.php

2 bolts loosen gaskets keep them from getting lost and one clamped loosen to remove ...I like it bigtime

image.php

thick gaskets over lap the head casting good I think it well seal good this way ...

runners are cut close not much rubber ID of runner

Stainless stuff is really hard.....I don't think those flanges will bend much at all unless Joe gets his 3/4" breaker bar out....
Think aboot it...if you have those things screwed into your wall, try pulling them off the wall. The screws will pull out before the flange bends, I bet. :good:

You could always make up some custom shaped washers out of steel flat bar to spread the pressure over the flange plates more. Similar to the keepers that were on some metal rocker covers. Version 2 is looking good :good:

It does not matter if the flanges do bend some ! The area where the tube and flange are welded make such a strong area that it will seal to the gasket,as Joe said ' much better than the stock flange

ok it runs ... I was cutting it close rain here .. condition perfect for icing ... it did ... runners were cold ..condensation was huge on out side of runners ... I could clear it then it would rev nice ... if I can get it to idle this will be one bad ass set up ....so cant do much now except wait for tomorrow suppose to be nice .... cant wait it sure is solid

The flange material seems to be thinner than Dan's mod. Are you worried about the flanges warping, or are they tougher than they look in the pics?

all the runners are independent ... so each runner when mounted splips into typ4 manifold and then shifted to fit flat on head ...its tighten ... then clamp is secured at type4 so its a no stress as possible set up ... in my view ...I wont take much torque to seal this setup and not much reason to over tighten ... :whistling: hopeful good day tomorrow

ok went for test ride ... did some jetting change ... I wont get into what what yet... I did get it to idle good now right around 1100 rpm ... this is with the 1 1/2 runner size no chokes in the outlets ... seems to bog a little down low now not much but some ... I added a lot of air to primary ..I think I will cut that back some ....in general the bike rev well to 8000 rpm and got to 70mph quick ....I am very pleased with that ... overall I think the big runner will work once jetted right ... I am going to run crankcase bleed to air intake as this will bring in some kind of warmer and oil rich air to the picture ....I think this might help this setup .....all the warmer air the better maybe ......so I am confident now that the grab bar set up is just great and not leaking ... that it will idle with the big 1 1/2" runners... I have lost some down low response but this may be all jetting ... more later :builder:

getting a whole lot better ... its idling good and reving good too ... time for another ride soon ... did a video but cant load it I forgotten how or something changed sheesh ... so I am not sertain yet but I think the big runners will work fine ... now that things are getting dial in ... its not bogging under throttle next test ride will tell a lot ... very pleased today so far ... im sure dan will help on video later :builder: :yahoo: :thank_you:
