Oh, you guy's I'm talking about the spacers for the flippen radiator not the water pump spacer, you silly rabbit's especially Wilcoy,, Yes, I got a water pump spacer because ohio bill said it would work and it did, all you gotta do is get like 3" bolts to fasten it..The studs they provide are far too large..6mm 1.0 pitch bolts about 3" long will do..I thought you were talking about the spacers needed to bring out the radiator...those are what I sent to chas. Now he better not be talking about the water pump spacers  because if he is... I just sent him 4 spacers for two bikes, those are the spacers you bend up to match the hole because when that rad, comes out the angle get off...You screw in my spacer and back it out a half turn and then tap it up to match the bolt and your good..

What  You couldn't have told me you moved ??? It's not all my fault now...You could have said something about moving yah know :Doh2:   but as long as it gets there :good: .. :smilie_happy: I love how you just let me take all the blame there..Like you didn't do anything wrong..Like not mention oh by the way I moved.. man.. :hihihi:  :hihihi:

Oh man, that sound's like a good time..I need to ride my bike to pow wow's and camp right there on my trailer..I love that trailer of mine..it's so easy to step into..works good..Get my mini weber out and smoke some meat or fish, and eat my oats..or heathy stuff. Pow Wow's are fun if any of you guy's have never been to one..I've been to lots of them..For those that don't know It's a festival or gathering of the Nations because Native American people or just people in general come to the festival and there are crafts and food and singing and dancing and it's great fun, people are totally friendly..Happy and never any issues..I'm glad you declined on the beer because I can't drink it anymore Chas. anyway a pow wow is a fun thing to do..

Sorry Dan, it's so easy to wander away from topic, my conversion has been doing great, I took a 20 mile ride and took the speed way up a few times, remember that feeling of uncertainty, is that pulley going to work? You know that feeling because it's new and different, well I have that right now, and until I'm really comfortable with this conversion thing I may stick in the area.. So far so good....this project really isn't very difficult to do, even if you have to make your own pulley from a junk yard..So this post was designed to help that guy out that's wanting to go this route..I'm very pleased with it so far..

Littlebeaver I know what you mean about the uncertainty of the conversion that's why I still have not put the lower left faring back on so I can keep a eye on it for a while.
Jerry

I had to trim part of my lower fairing because it hit the alternator where it steps in. anyone else have to do that too..??? My plan is to put it back on with pvc glue and clamps until dry, I need to move it back just a little I shall take more photo's of that I hope today..Looks like I'm now glueing it and once it's dry I will re form it using bondo and then I'll repaint it and you won't see any of the conversion..I will have photo's of this process..

Ok fella's, I had to trim off some of the lower part of the cowl or fairing lower, the part that steps in hit the alt.. so I had to make it look as good as posssible, I went the extra yard and repaired it and I'm happy to show and tell now..Because that's the way I roll man..

I feel that you should do the very best you can at something, it pays off because you can be proud of your work..some how I got the photo's out of order the clamped one was supposed to be before the finished product one..Oh well you will see them all anyway... :Egyptian:

did you ever get your pulley that was supposed to be sent out sometime last week?
Have you ever gotten a response from the maker?
Just wondering?
If you have not gotten it yet--Do you ever think you will ever see it?

Wilcoy, I really don't know at this point.. I'm not going to worry about it anymore...I do know this, he needs to inform us better of his actions..

Well guys, I already posted this on the 4" pulley post but by the time I was done I realized I should have posted it here, I'm going to repost it here as it's still part of my conversion and it will make this post more better that kind..What I did was I dreamed up another way of fastening the inner mounting bolt for the timing belt covers...I basically just moved the bolt hole over 1" from the existing location, on the inside where the bolt normally goes I made a mounting bar or a piece of flat stock with a hole for a 6mm bolt to go straight thru to fasten it and 1" down is another hole drilled and tapped to recieve the original stock bolt..I just relocated the stupid thing is what I'm trying to say here. It works really nicely..So here are some photograph's for you guy's...

Actually I noticed a lot less heat coming off the engine covers now, with that RR unplugged I can really feel the difference...I'm curious to see what Bob comes up with, Hey Bob can I copy your design?

Yes,.... if I ever get done :smilie_happy: !! I have to get to NAPA and get another belt,...I like to keep the Alt. as close to the frame as possible!! I was using a 29.5'' belt and I don't want to trim any more metal, I still have the bottom piece off! I'm still thinking on this :headscratch: !! I still have to close the old fan hole up also!! Give me a couple weeks and I WILL KEEP YOU INFORMED OK! OK! :smilie_happy: Later :hi: Bob

see now that's some right down honest to goodness communication...I shall be patience ha ha....

Well Beav, I got the cover on, I'm not a pro. sheet metal worker but did the best I could!! These pictures are in there rarest form. I still have some finishing touchs but you can get an idea of what I done :read: !! The material I used was roof flashing, a little light but easy material to form and cut. And then used the ole' pop rivet gun to hold stuff together  I'd say overall I blocked out 80-90% of the rad. heat. Also around the electrial output terminal I used split clear hose so it wouldn't short out anything! Enjoy the pictures :music3: !!! Later, :music3: :hi: Bob
