Ok....we have a video!!

It's transferring from Joe's computer to mine right now.
That's going to take a couple more hours yet then I need to do some editing to it but I'll try to get it posted today.

Ok....The moment we've all been waiting for!

Joedrum's 1986 1200 engine running 1100 heads with GL1000 371 cams and 1982 carbs in a GL1000 frame. Running Dyna ignition and coils with a relay installed.

wow im impressed with the video ...im going to have to come up with new name dragonwing is taken by a really nice looking 1000 build ...that looks as good as this bike sounds ....tody while dan was fixing up my total lack in putting the video up ...i was able to do a huge mod in my book ...moded the 1000 timing belt cover to the 1200 motor this gives it room wher the 1200 caover hit the frame a look 1200 ...it now looks 1000 even with the timing covers on ..

this is what had to go on the timing cover for it to work on 1200 ...i like this addition unexpected and really makes it 1000ized

So bottom line here is Joe, you are the first to pull this mod off!

1. You proved that the 1100 heads can be made to fit a 1200 engine.

2. The early 1000 cams will fit an 1100 head.

3. The coolant tubes mating the 1100 heads will work.

4. The 1100 carb rack will bolt onto a 1200 engine even though the spread is wider.

All in all pulling this off is one hell of an achievement not to mention that engine and combination sounds bad ass and mean!

Good Job, Joe!
The combination sounds really good.
I'm excited to see what can be done with factory part-swapping.
Not everybody can take the plunge into the unknown and come out good like this in the end. You'll give many inspiration with this mod.
Thumbs-Up Brotha!
