Teaser....I would be VERY interested in "before and after" dyno runs with a 6 carb Valkyrie. With jetting I would expect a healthy power increase!

my plan for this yr is base line run with my airbox/carb jetting and viking exhaust, then install 49 state camshafts. dyno. while having a set of heads ported and flow benched, install, dyno. then install your system, dyno again.
the outside exhaust ports of each head are very restrictive, one is worst than the other for the PAIR valve system. cleaning this up should really wake up any GL1500 in regards to Hp/Tq and mpg.

Sounds like a great plan. Do you have a link to those cams?
:thanks:

Do me a favor and dyno before/after our ignition with NO other changes. Do you know how many people change four things and then say "gosh I should have done one thing at a time".

I have dyno runs from several GL1000's but never a 1500.

Nice ! Multispark , Noticed a comment here regarding Forced induction guys would need this unit ? I have run the Dyna 3000 on my Blown/Nitrous GL 1500 Valk for 14 years , Would really dig a Multispark ign, But us Blown/Nitrous guys Need Triggered Timing Retard as the Dyna has ? C5 capable of Triggered Retard ? I run a very aggressive initial Timing while cruising , Only to be pulled back out when Hammered , Best of both worlds . and picked up 5 mpg this way . Back in 1975 i ran a CDI ignition on my big bore 1971 CB750 , still ran points back then but they would not burn so fast, Little Black box on the rear fender next to taillight 40 years ago. Muffler ? don't need no stnkin Muffler LOL

You have I think four curves you can map separately on the C5 so yes you can set it to immediately drop to a more retarded curve. Switch turning the nitrous on can be used to drop back to a lower curve.

Awesome ! need to find more info , This is a nice setup ! the Dyna has gave me problems before . found to be in the main wire Harness plug fitting issue with stock ECU plug was loose pins not a very conductive fit got a needle and probed the female side to pinch more, problem solved, I will be looking into this C5, It must have also Rev limiter program also, stock is 7200 i run 8500

Cool ! I wonder if it has a separate wire for Retard mode ? I have a 1-4 lb Hobbs switch that is set for instant Timing Retard at 1 lb of Boost and will stay triggered through full boost seen laying on the frame, Vacuum line comes from Intake manifold under the Supercharger ,, also Nitrous Oxide Micro switch on the Mikuni Flat slide for instant trigger that is hooked up to a relay for grounding the Dyna timing retard

Is there documentation here somewhere showing exactly how to do this? When I installed my C5 I was and still am confused on how to activate the various curves.

Okay. Two wires not grounded gives one curve. One grounded gives next curve. Switch wires and you get a third curve. Ground both you get the 4th curve.

So I need a four way switch? Or two switches? This is where I get cornfused...right now I just have the grounds bundled together so everything is on one ground.

I've missed a bunch of this conversation but here is the rotary switch I use. This military spec 4 position/2 pole switch has gold plated terminals and is the diameter of your index finger.
We have used other switches but this one is the most waterproof and highest quality I can find.

The wiring diagram shows how I solder the connections for our application. Bust out your reading glasses, those switches are small.

We can design a curve that reduces timing at the rpm which your boost comes in, our build a set of curves so in lower gears your timing doesn't retard (much) since you have no engine load.
You can trigger a map change using boost sensor or a variety of other methods. There are no external control boxes....all that technology is already inside the small module.

We can set rev limits in 50 rpm jumps and all four timing maps can be different. I'd love to help if you decide to change systems. I believe between optical precision and our ability to tune/change timing on the fly you'll never use anything else once we get it dialed in. You can run three dual tower coils or 6 individual coils. It won't matter to our new system.
