+1 for "Mutt", but here some possible names (offered for fun only!):
Hot Stuff
Rattler
Homegirl (acts up when you get too far from home)
Stanley Steamer
Hot Wing
Conglomeration (after you install the 1100 cylinder heads) does that make it a Gl1211?

Here in central Illinois, it's a dark and rainy morning. Time to go to the garage.
The gas tank for the trike has been filled with vinegar for 7 days, so I'll empty it today and see if most of the rust is gone.

So, please clarify.

Overheated and died. You originally though "really" dead. It re-started, but with a little noise. But, did the bike make it from Texas to Pennsylvania under its own power without further incident? I should read a little closer - but I do remember you mentioning something about someone giving you a lift.

Did that happen or did the bike motivate back home itself?

Might be good to know for future reference what the compression reads.

If you remember...

I suspect my Harbor Frieght compression gauge is a POS so I need to confirm these numbers on my other 1200 motor.

Cylinders 1, 2, & 4 are around 60.... Cylinder #3 reads 0. I think I found the blown head gasket. I just hope I didn't also find leaking valves. :head bang:

Tomorrow, after the 1100 battery is charged, I will confirm the accuracy of the gauge.

Probably warped the head enough when hot to blow out the head gasket...or the detonation blew the head gasket. I suppose there could have been some valve damage but I doubt it.
Could do a leak down test but why bother, both heads need to come off anyway.

FYI, I have a good compression gauge if you need it!
