Help! Help! I'm drowning!!
Yeah I'm with ya.
I sure couldn't keep track of all this if I didn't have a carb right here to compare and Joe's help by Yahoo messenger.
We've been chatting quite a bit already this morning.

What I'm going to do is start a new thread with all the details and pics what is what laid out so it's easier to understand since in this thread we have a lot of discussion and figuring out what each part is and what to do with it.
I'll start this when I know myself :smilie_happy:

Dan,

What is you count down for ignition to blast off
Boy, not long if work didn't have to get in the way.

I'm trying to decide how I'm going to couple the 2 ends of my vacuum hose.
I don't want to ruin the orange boots that came with the manifold, am thinking to glue to them.
Glue may be a no turning back kind of thing but maybe I'll just do that anyway because I'm very curious to try this.

Looks like I'd just have to remove the whole thing like Joe did and plug it with epoxy.
I'll get out there in a bit and pull it off.

Please provide a picture so we can look it over.

Dan,

My cover is still on it,

It does not look like it has been plugged or tampered with.

You know what might be a good idea.

Call Tom at Langdons Stovebolt
Phone Tom @ 586-739-9601

Let him know you were thinking about the 32DFT carb

and you had a question or two.

Ask him if, he blocks that off before he sends out the carb, or if it is a functional part of the carb.

Joe,

My carb has the triangular cover on the carb and the three screws are in it.

I cannot tell if something was done under that plate or not.

Yep exactly!!

Do you have any thin walled steel tubing backing up your clamp area inside your vacuum hose to back up the clamp on the oem manifold?

Other wise the clamp will collapse the hose, and not maintain a seal.

I used steel .055 to .062 thin walled steel tube that is your clamp backer, so you can get a Very tight seal there

Dan,

From the interest that has been generated on this topic.

I think there are a lot of people trying to buy this carb right now.

There is over 3000 views on it on the steve saunders sight alone.

That thread over there was made as a sticky and is permanently at the top of the page, you dont need to bump it.

Leave a message for him tomorrow.

He will call you back,

It would get that info before modding your carb. another day or two is better than F-in that carb.

I tried Tom at that number, went straight to voice mail which is full and won't let me leave a message.

My manifold

The oem Stub manifolds at the heads side,

My 1-1/4" id hose has steel tubing pushed into the hose, flush with the end, to give the clamp support, and make a seal, then I push that hose into the oem stub manifold,

i then clamp the Oem manifold clamp to the hose, that steel tube inside the hose, provides a very ridged hose for clamping/sealing

VW manifold side,

I push in the other hose end, another short piece of steel thin wall tube, then I push on my larger hose(1-1/2"ID) on to the VW manifold and push my 1-1/4"id hose in to that 1-1/2" hose that you pushed on to the VW manifold, then tighten the two clamps on the VW Manifold side

That is the way mine works

Yours is different,

I dont know if you have any steel tube, hose support, to support the hose so it wont collapse when clamped.
