"It's about bikes, riding, wrenching and camaraderie."
Absolutely it is.

No competition here that I know of, just guys and gals workin on bike's, sheesh.
That we might do some things differently than others doesn't mean we're trying to be better or win some prize, just passing on another way to do it is all. I guess some people take that as competition. Oh well, not our problem.

Gerry the post was over at saunders ...as always I couldn't get computer to link the comment made ...gee imagine that :hihihi:

Thats what you get for tip toeing around at other sites Joe! :smilie_happy:

Apparently, whatever comments or whatever was going on is gone now from that thread now. As a matter of fact, I cannot find any CM85 comments??

Doesn't really matter to me. I just hate hearing about people getting "their panties in a wad!" (Sorry, not my quote bit it fits!) :smilie_happy:

My brother Joe:
There is an old saying that goes: tell me that you boast and I'll tell you that you suffer. Clearly that CM85 admire your work, Dan's, West's and that of all members of this forum. The saddest part of all this is that anyone who is really bad at all is CM85 with public comments he makes. Here at CGW have a family atmosphere, where we celebrate the achievements and share our sorrows. (I still remember when the Enterprise was stranded two months and you and Dan were hand in hand with me, even without knowing me) What we accomplished in this forum is cause for envy.

Angel aka Jungo

Speaking of a better theme, today will arrive my plenum manifold! :music: :music:

Dan,

Another thing, I thought of,

How light is your throttle at the grip?

My 32DFT carb. From Tom, came with Three throttle Return springs on it.

But my 32/34DFT has only Two throttle return springs.

whew the yard mowing put my butt right back in the house ... sheesh more rest ..me don't like this at all ....great jungo im glad the parts are coming.... I think the icing issue is totally solvable and not near the threat that old stock carbs are bring to some me included ...where it takes to much funds to keep limping them along ... we will be with you all the way ... im going to start working on easy runner options the best I can ne and west really had to muscle things to get the tough hose to work ... I think there a way to tame this hose better or something else ...taming the hose is my first choice im going after

West, my cable hookup isn't pretty but it's functional. Made up from spare parts laying around. It's not the permanent hookup for sure.
I guess I'll post pics of it as long as I don't get bashed for it lol.

Throttle pull is easy, I love it.
Have to look but I think there's just the one return spring.

Great Jungo.
What else are you waiting on to start building?

Just for the carb adapter. It should arrive next Monday. I'll start working with the intake runners and the plenum, so when the adapter arrives is just installing the carb.

You might want to wait for the adaptor so the intake can be positioned for best fit of the carb.

What you think guys, good idea?

Just saying that if I had positioned mine just a 1/2" more to the right the fuel feed nipple would have cleared the frame.

Yes Jungo,

Just wait, no sense in trying to jump ahead only to have to replace some parts.

As you will need to get the spacing from side to side just right,

That fuel inlet needs some spacing between frame and fuel inlet

I have 3/16" between fuel inlet nipple and frame, and still centered pretty good.

You do not want that fuel inlet to be up against the frame.

That may create some problems.

Oh wait,

Jungo, you are going with the 34PICT3,

You will probably be ok, but better to make sure.

The 34PICT3 is a smaller carb body, you can leave your elec. choke on and probably not have a spacing issue.

Jungo,

I am just as anxious to see your single carb. conversion.

How about wetting our appetite with a couple of pictures of the parts that you already have.

I'm just anxious. I have to calm down. I'll wait for the adapter to not be double work. :thank_you:

Here is a Picture of my GL11-S,

It does look less complicated than with the 4 carb rack.

That windshield has a quick release on it, takes 15 seconds to remove the shield and go to Naked

Those are HD mufflers, it sounds really nice with the combination HD mufflers and the new Single carb. it is Not loud! I dont like loud and obnoxious, I like a nice deep throaty sound, that is comfortable sounding, the HD mufflers are Stock and are NOT modified.

That is my 58' Corvette in the back Ground,

and my 1967' Chevy pickup, w/ new 350ci V8 & new 4speed auto.

Both have been completely Gone through

My temp throttle hookup.

I just want everyone to know that at this time my installation is totally trial to see what effects there are with a single and how it runs compared to the stock carbs.
Is my mock up perfect? No way by any stretch but as I've said many times on our forum here is one person's idea may help someone else come up with a better way or to make it work with what they have available to them and hopefully post pictures of any tricks they found and how it worked out.

Am I condemning the stock rack to the trash can?
Absolutely not!
Honda I'm sure spent a lot of time and money developing these carbs and I'm sure with Honda's reputation for quality they did not skimp on their flagship model.
I'm having trouble with mine but I'm not skilled enough in areas I need to sort them out.
Many folks have no trouble with theirs so obviously it's something I'm doing wrong or not doing right.
I'm not perfect and will never claim to be.

Ok, ride report coming soon today.
