:hihihi: :ahem:
There's TROUBLE in Turdville! :Awe: :head bang: :sensored:
So...I tear into the other head today, and noticed the dadburn valve seals are loose on the stems. The seals on the other head were fine, but these are deformed. WTF?!? So, I go ahead and finish cleaning the head, and lap the valves. I'll hafta get new seals, and do both heads. BTW....for those that might be interested, the same valve seals are used on some Acura cars, Honda Civics, and Qualudes. 1.3, 1.5, 1.8 engines, mid '80s('81-'83 or so). Local parts houses list them, so Imma gunna get them from there...for waaaaay less than ebay, or any of the cycle parts places($1.98 each at O'reilly's, or a full set of 8 for $15.12).
Moving on, I decided to pop a bowl off one of the carbs and see how it looks. Apparently, someone thought using sillycone on the rubber gaskets would be a good idea... oh2: Bowl was pretty dang clean tho, but now I hafta put new gaskets/o-rings on them, so I have 4 o-ring style seals ordered.
Got a gasket made for the water outlet on the trans cover. I have a roll of gasket material here, so I just banged one out for it. I have all of the o-ring seals I need for the trans cover, water pump & outlet, cross-over tubes, etc., so I'm good there. Too rainy & cold today to get the engine outside and cleaned up, tho.
