Yeah what I'm finding is the 2 rear cylinders run a bit richer than the fronts. That's held true through all the jetting changes I've done.
My thought is if the carb is centered between the runners, it will allow me to go one step leaner on the primary.
Theoretical but making sense.

I'll start a new thread with this mod on top of the mod.

There were only 3 left to sell when I bought two. I can't find the link to the seller on ebay just now.

is that a 32/32 butterfly or 32/34?, not sure about the chokes (venturies) too?

question here was the carb for 83-6 escort including 1.9 (same deal as 81)
https://www.ebay.com/itm/HOLLEY-WEBER-RE ... ca&vxp=mtr
after having another look at the ad, it sez Holley-Weber 740 H-2 2 BBL carburetor

i think the only info/experience right now is with the 81 escort 1.6

i was just trying to figure out if other year escort carbs were the same as 81 and those just came up

iow, newer ones can also be found cheap

i haven't found any 32/34 info as far as ford goes

yeah, sorry about that, it's the first i've seen on some details other than for an 81 escort, if there is any more interest, it would be another thread/topic

what it looks like to me is all escort carbs are suitable, and are mostly 740 32/32

The escort offered in the us never had a 2.3 in it,the pinto and mustangs came with the 2.3

yea looks like the carb outfit info is wrong on that (though maybe there was a 2.3 in canada..) everything points out to 740 carbs on 1.6 or 1.9 escort engines,

might be some jetting diffs, dunno about diff venturis or throttle plates

anyway, for another topic but with lots more info and carb options now

it can clearly take lotsa digging to get to bottom lines and you had the 32/34 question in this thread that is now somewhat clarified
