Took my first ride ever on my new to me wing and found a slight problem:

:nea:

Good grief! Is that stator shorted out?

~O~

Affirmative. Continuity between all 3 wires. Bummer.

Okay it's toast. Probably. You could cut the wires off inside the case and check again as they might be fused together where they go through the case. But once you are that far it's best to just put in a new stator.

Wait, you SHOULD have continuity between the yellows.
Continuity between any of the yellows and ground, No.

See the bottom paragraph #3 and #4.

Ok, well now I'm confused. Two people that have way more experience than me are telling me two different things. Which is it?

Btw, when I say continuity between the yellows, I mean all on the stator side, between eachother. I did -not- have continuity between between the yellows and the case though.

EDIT: AWESOME! Now I can wire this bad boy back up and see if it's charging.

I took a peek to make sure each wing was under its cover then got the tempo loaded on the van and headed to belle isle for a free tecno concert. it was also a chance to test and tune the tempo. those pedals will be replaced soon and a water bottle, cycle computer, and air pump will be added

Took a short day trip from here to Walden, CO and back. Saw lots of Harley's (and a few wings) headed to Sturgis.
Wow! didn't realise that Sturgis was this week. It will be 2 years in a couple of weeks since my brother Kim and I rode from LA up to Sturgis and back :good: :moped: :salute:

Farm to Market roads can be great, have to pick the right ones, you know they go a mile or less or more, and there are some 90 degree turns getting around farmers plots and crossing the creeks and rivers in the right places, connecting to the towns, nothing hair raising unless you go 30 over posted corner speed, then you have your hands full! :)

Got off from work and went for a 120 mile ride and went no where! When I got home, there was a big box of stuff marked Genuine Honda Parts at my door. Western Honda comes through again.
