Rode it like I owned it, 115 miles yesterday morning, 130 miles this morning. The first 50-60 miles each day were great, the balance of the miles each day were pure torture, numb butt and legs with lot of pain and I tried a different seat each day.

Sorry to hear that your are not comfortable for the whole day Mike. I cheated on our ride and brought along a Wal-mart memory foam chair cushion in velour which I tied onto the bike with the tabs. I managed almost 1000 miles in 17hours with the additional comfort of the cushion. :moped:

I finally installed the new engine in the '83. Still need to do cables, hoses and carbs. She'll be on the road soon - I hope!!!

Here is hoping!! :good:

Rode the 1800 to and from that four-letter-word place, finished priming the Hunley, and finalized my decision on paint for the frame. Today, the upholstery material for the seat came in - it is gorgeous! One piece looks like leather that has been tooled to look like woven. The other is English Pub Hunter Green (for the back part of the cafe seat). I will use for of the leather-look to recover the shelter center section. It is already removed, stripped, and primed.

New emblems.

Where from? (Gotta a link?)
I got the eagles from this guy..https://www.ebay.com/itm/Honda-Goldwing- ... e0&vxp=mtr He was the only one selling pairs and I nabbed them for 56 buck several months ago, I didnt see him selling any more sop maybe a one time deal.
The goldwings off Ebay, New old stock, my other goldwing was good so I didn't bother getting both. You can still get the goldwing from your local honda, 22 buck and they have to order it.
I did some looking and he does have a pair but instead of an auction he has a higher buy it now.
Here`s the link.

Got her running on the single!

If you guys keep this up, you are going to make it a simple check list and shopping list for everyone else to do the same thing. :clapping:

As the Rats Nest is still in LA it can't be a Goldwing. Cable tied the new ( second hand) ignition switch into Red so that I could borrow a torks bit to remove the smashed barrel and bolt on the new switch. It was so weird riding a CBR after the Oldwing, couldn't find the foot pegs as they were a lot higher and the turning circle was like the Bismarck. Managed to negotiate the dreaded driveway and unlock and lock the new security on our front gate without any mishaps. It was pretty cool to open her up to 10 grand and feel all that power and then brakes, but I found that my helmet was trying to be torn off by the wind that wasn't being deflected by that massive Vetter screen. After such a hell week it was great to ride even if it was only for 5 minutes. Can't wait to head down to my mates tomorrow and bolt the switch in and ride Red again!! :moped:

Fixed a few nagging issues: replaced the shifter seal and the tach seal. I also changed the rear brakes (that was a lot easier to do when I had the Vetter bags on) and also changed the oil. All that in a matter of 45 minutes.

Try that on an 1800!
